We LOVE the Oscars! Having an Oscars party is the perfect excuse to get together with your girlfriends to eat, drink and talk about clothes! We came up with an especially girly theme for our Oscars Party that would really be perfect for any girls’ night!
Every Oscars party needs a little gold, but instead of black we decided to use pink to make it extra feminine. We used Martha Stewart’s pink pom poms to decorate the table and the wall. These poms poms are fun and less expensive than buying flowers. You can hang them from the ceiling, use them on the wall, in a vase or on the table. Then we used plain white take out containers and decorated them with gold and pink 1.25 inch circle stickers from Paper Source. We finished the table off with pink napkins, Kate Spade gold coasters and some gold tinsel.
For the menu we kept it simple; champagne, popcorn and candy! Champagne is always a good idea, especially when you add pink sprinkles to the glass. A side of pink m&ms makes it even better! We played around with a few champagne cocktails and also loved the mix of pink lemonade or grapefruit juice and champagne. You could easily make these into mocktails with your favorite pink juice and sparkling water. The Paloma we featured earlier this week would also be a great cocktail for a girls’ night.
To make the popcorn a little fancy, we put little bowls of seasoning out on the table. We offered truffle salt, pinor noir salt and a bowl of sugar in the raw. Bitterman’s Artisan Salts are a perfect way to make a popocorn bar Oscar-worthy. We like the pinot noir salt and the black truffle salt. There are also a variety of popcorn seasonings available at Williams-Sonoma and Sur la Table.
We also served a simple salad of mixed greens, raspberries, pine nuts and grilled chicken with Ashley’s famous salad dressing. Using the food containers makes it easy for everyone to watch the Oscars while they eat and it made clean up a snap.
Whether you are watching the Oscars or just getting together with your girlfriends, a little champagne, a few treats and a heavy helping of pink and gold decorations are sure to make for a fun evening!
