colorful kids’ rooms

We are both in the process of converting our kids’ rooms into big kid rooms and we have had many discussions about ways to make their rooms a space they love! We love color and there is no better place for playful decor than a kid’s room. There are so many ways to bring color into a kid’s room whether you add a cheerful rug, vibrant bedding or just the right piece of art.

We love these colorful vintage apples from Inside Closet and they are a great example of bringing color into a room through a collection. With the right display even a few colorful books or toys can brighten a room.

Wall Art

Even the most neutral room can benefit from a little color on the walls. Whether you find colorful art, use wall decals or just display your kid’s art work on the wall, the right wall art can make a space feel happy and personal. There are so many amazing resources for art these days. Etsy, Oopsy Daisy, MintedLuLu and Georgia, Pottery Barn Kids and Land of Nod are just some of our favorite places to find great decals, photos and prints.

Rugs anchor a room and can make them feel cozy or add a pop of color to brighten the whole space.

For us, bedding is the most fun part of decorating a kid’s room. We love to mix and match color and prints and Land of Nod, Serena & Lily and Hanna Anderson have great options.

We also love to add color in little ways. Land of Nod is a great source for whimsical throw pillows or colorful storage options. It can even be as simple as stringing a set of Bright Lab Lights from a window or on the top of a bookshelf to add just the right amount of color to a space. If you have fun with it, there is no doubt you will create a room that your kids love!

Happy Decorating!
