spring soiree

Spring is in the air and it is the perfect time of year for entertaining. Whether you are hosting a girls’ night in or a backyard barbeque, you cannot go wrong with some pretty drink decor, a pink cocktail and some bright flowers. We love to entertain, but we want it to be simple and easy without sacrificing style. It is amazing how much of an impact napkins and paper straws can have on a party! We love Over the Moon’s Party Drink Decor kits, because they immediately make any party more stylish and festive. The mint green napkins and straws were the perfect compliment to our watermelon margarita and we may start using their silver swizzle sticks for every cocktail we make!

We bought all the flowers at the grocery store, combining dark pink ranunculus, pink roses, hydrangeas and green kermit chrysanthemums in a hand-tied bouquet. We also scattered a few of Martha Stewart Craft Pom Poms around the room. It did not hurt that the flowers and the pom poms ended up matching our signature cocktail.

For our signature cocktail, we made Watermelon Margaritas. We used the same recipe that we featured in our watermelon margarita popsicles post and it turned out perfectly. We served them with a wedge of watermelon and accessorized them with the fabulously fun Over the Moon Drink Decor Kit.

Watermelon Margaritas

  • 5 cups of seedless watermelon, cubed (about 1 small watermelon)
  • 1/2 cup agave
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 -3/4 cup Blanco Tequila

Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour mixture through a mesh strainer to strain any watermelon pulp, serve and enjoy!

Happy Entertaining!
