Strawberry dreamsicle

This past Spring we bought a popsicle mold so that we could dream up some fun, new frozen treats this Summer. We must admit, this is one of our best investments! Making popsicles is so fun, and the kids love getting in on the creative process with suggestions for various fruit combinations. Since strawberries are officially in season, we decided to come up with a healthy strawberry yogurt creamsicle that everyone will enjoy. With only 4 ingredients these popsicles couldn’t be simpler or tastier!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups strawberries, washed and stems removed
  • 1 1/2 cups plain, nonfat greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup agave
  • juice from one lemon

Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour mixture into your popsicle mold, leaving 1/4″ of space at the top to allow the mixture to expand as it freezes. Place in freezer until mixture is frozen. Remove and enjoy!!

These creamsicles are a welcome frozen treat on a hot day! Our kids absolutely love them and we can feel good about offering a healthy snack or dessert.

Peaches and raspberries are also in season right now and would make excellent substitutions for strawberries, we can’t wait to try them out next! If you’re looking for an adult frozen treat, we used the same mold for our watermelon margarita popsicles, which are the perfect refreshing Summertime dessert for the grown ups.
