Even though Spring hasn’t officially “sprung” it’s been so warm and sunny in LA that we can’t help but get ready to pull out our Spring wardrobe essentials! What we find we need most is a pastel pop of color to help brighten what we already have, which is why we are loving this Spring’s hot new color Rose Quartz. Rose Quartz is the perfect shade of light, pastel pink that when we first saw it looked like it might be hard to wear. Once we did little digging we realized that we really could wear it with almost anything in our closet: black, grey, brown, navy, denim, stripes, leopard… you name it and Rose Quartz works!
Shades of Grey
Light pink looks lovely with a grey of any shade! We know it’s still snowing is some parts of the country so even though it’s not technically Spring, a cozy pink sweater is the perfect transitional piece to pair with a grey coat or blazer. Pairing this pink sweater with a grey coat or grey blazer would be the perfect transitional mix.
A flirty pink dress like this long sleeve shift or this sleeveless mini can easily go from a day around town to a night out depending on what you pair it with. For day time we prefer to layer on a light weight grey sweater and scarf, and for night time a clean leather jacket dresses it up just perfectly.
You can never go wrong with a rose quartz pencil skirt, it’s flattering on everyone! We especially love the dressier look of a pencil skirt paired with a casual grey tee and pointy toe shoes…flats or heels, either one looks great!
Denim look great with anything! If you’re a little nervous to wear a really light color like Rose Quartz, investing in a pair of great jeans or pants and pairing them with a denim top is the best way to go. Both of us have pretty fair complexions so wearing light pink on the bottom with a denim top or jacket works best.
Of course jeans go with anything…literally anything, which is why they remain to be a daily staple in our wardrobes every season. This Spring our well worn jeans are just begging to be dressed up with a classy pink coat or blazer and a girly pair of light pink heels.
Just like denim, Rose Quartz looks amazing with neutral like beige, off white and white. When pairing light pink with any neutral color it helps to have a little texture on the piece; like a bit of fringe, a few ruffles, a peplum silhouette, pleats or even a well placed zipper.
Leopard and Stripes
Just as much as we love leopard, we also can’t get enough of our blue and white striped tops! Rose Quartz coordinates equally as well with the perfect blue and white stripe top…and even better yet you can mix them all together: leopard, stripes and pink!
Accessorize with Rose Quartz
If you are a little nervous about how a light pink shade will look, investing in a great accessory like a handbag, clutch or jewelry is a great way to work it into your wardrobe. Sophia Hulme, Vince Camuto and Zara have some beautiful handbag options, and this J.Crew necklace or Tory Burch Scarf could easily be worked into any outfit.
